Nature's Symphony at Your Doorstep
Villas Ecotucan offers a magical escape into the jungle where waking up to the sounds of chirping birds and the fresh morning breeze feels like stepping into a nature documentary. The spacious cabanas provide a unique way to connect with the lush surroundings. Plus, the private dock on Lake Bacalar is perfect for sunset watching or a peaceful kayak ride—a true highlight of the stay.
Despite the enchanting atmosphere, there were some drawbacks. The absence of hot water for several days and the dining options being limited left some comforts wanting. Breakfast offered little variety, especially for vegetarians, which felt disappointing given the price point. Accessing the location can be challenging without a car, and while the staff were friendly, logistical issues could be frustrating.

this place is quite the jungle 'retreat,’ as long as you don’t mind subpar breakfast and running out of water mid-shower. And honestly, a complimentary gesture would have been nice for enduring the noise from noisy families—would have helped to mask the sound! almost left a good review, but just couldn’t.

unique jungle experience, beautiful calm lagoon, free kayak access
Cabins lack hot water, dining options are limited, no working pool, and maintenance needed for the birdwatching tower!!! Lonely vibes without dining variety can be disappointing!!!

The spacious cabanas were impeccably clean and offered a unique jungle experience with screened windows to keep mosquitoes at bay.
It can be quite challenging to access the property without a car, and taxi fares can add up quickly.

The spacious cabanas provide a unique jungle experience.
We experienced issues with the salty water from the taps and shower, leading to dry skin and hair. There was no Wi-Fi in our room, which was quite inconvenient for planning activities. The breakfast options were extremely limited, especially for vegetarians, leaving us feeling underwhelmed every morning.

I loved being surrounded by nature and enjoyed the bird and nature tours with Jacqueline. The calm lagoon vibes and hammocks were delightful, making it a perfect spot to unwind after a day of culinary exploration in Bacalar.
Now, I did encounter some salty water from the taps that left my hair feeling like straw! WiFi was nonexistent in my room, and the breakfast had limited options. My omelette came devoid of the promised veggies because I opted out of ham—what's up with that?

I had such a lovely stay! The cabins were uniquely cozy and the nature surrounding them was breathtaking. The free kayaks made exploring the lagoon a blast! Just note, the water pressure in the shower was a bit iffy at times, but I'd still come back in a heartbeat!
